What do cops do on those never-ending surveillances – when all the coffee and doughnuts have run out?  Well, some of them read books by Tom Clancy and W.E.B. Griffin.  That’s what Special Agent James O. Born used to do.  And that’s what gave him the idea that maybe he could write crime novels, too.  Today, he’s won the Florida Book Award for Best Novel of the Year, and is riding high in the charts.  In the first part of a very revealing two-part interview, Jim talks to our own Donna Ballman about his rise to success.
